Residents of nursing homes, assisted living communities, and veterans’ homes across Brevard County are writing letters to you. Not because anyone told them to. Because they have something to say.
Letters · Stories · Wisdom“The things I worried about at 25 are not the things that mattered at 75. Be kinder to yourself. You’re doing better than you think.”— A preview of what’s coming. Real words from real people.
This isn’t a self-help book. It’s not motivational quotes from the internet. These are real letters, real stories, and real advice from people in their 70s, 80s, and 90s who’ve been through what you’re going through — and came out the other side with something worth saying.
Residents of nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and veterans’ homes across Brevard County contribute letters, stories, and advice during life story sessions. Some write themselves. Some dictate. Every voice counts.
The best letters and stories are compiled into printed collections, donated to Brevard County libraries and community organizations. Free for anyone to read. Their wisdom, permanently on the shelf.
Some advice is better heard than read. We’re building a collection of photos of handwritten letters, video clips of residents sharing their wisdom, and typed versions of everything — all archived right here.
We don’t give them a script. We ask open questions and let them talk. But certain topics come up again and again — because they’re the things that matter most.
“Don’t marry someone who doesn’t make you laugh on a Tuesday.”— Coming soon from a Brevard County resident.
This is where we’ll archive everything — photos of handwritten letters, video clips of residents sharing advice, and typed versions you can read and share. Some things hit different when you see the handwriting or hear the voice.
We’re running our first sessions now. Once we have enough letters, stories, and recordings, this archive will go live. Check back soon — or follow us to get notified.
